Many years ago I took a calligraphy class to learn how to address wedding invitations. While I have enjoyed addressing many an envelope, my creativity has been somewhat limited with the task. Formal invitations require a more precise style of writing…and I am more of a “free-spirit” when it comes to lettering. Now, let’s get this straight: I am NOT a hand-lettering professional by any means; however, I love to create hand-lettered chalkboards. I find the process fun and relaxing. (Strange, I know…) Over the past few years I have created numerous chalkboards for family and friends, but never for myself. {Side note: My Mama gave me a Christmas gift this past year by Chalk Full of Love. This book is amazing if you want to learn the art of creative lettering.} So, I’ve been practicing lettering drills in hopes to make a chalkboard that I could display in my home. Well, guess what?! I finished it yesterday. And, I am pretty proud of the different fonts and little extra flourishes I added to the board. If you’d like a chalkboard, let me know! I’d love to make one for you, too.
Off I Go….
